Tyrus Barclay | Assistant Coach

Ty Barclay is entering his second year with UMary in the 2022-23 season. Ty will be overseeing the team’s offense, while maintaining his duties as a defensive coordinator as well. Player development driven, Barclay gives the program a growth mindset that he hopes will propel it forward for generations of Marauder Baseball.

Ty has had previous coaching stints with the Great Lake Canadians and Madan Chief’s organizations, while gaining collegiate level experience with the Sylvan Lake Gulls of the WCBL collegiate summer league. Barcs has assisted alongside former major leaguers, professional scouts, and highly successful coaches in his young career.

Barclay attended Garden City Community College where he earned all conference honors as a catcher. He continued his college career at Emporia State University where he was named Best Teammate, and Team Captain his senior year. For his final season, Ty transferred to the University of Mary and aided them to a playoff berth.

Barclay calls Wyoming, Ontario, Canada home. He is married to Cassidy Barclay.

He holds a Bachelors in Communication from Emporia State, and a Masters in Business Administration from UMary.
